Hari Om parents,
In this week's class, we started with opening prayers followed by chanting of "oṃ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya" and likhita japa. We quickly recapped a story, that was narrated few weeks ago, of how hiraṇyākṣa was killed by Lord Vishnu in kūrma avatar. Hiraṇyakaśipu, the brother of hiraṇyākṣa, wanted to avenge his brother's death. To narrate this story we watched a youtube of prahlada and how Lord Vishnu saves prahlada and kills Hiraṇyakaśipu in nṛsiṃha avatar. As a class, we discussed what the kids learned from the video and below are the replies from the kids in their own words….
"Pray to the lord
Being greedy is bad
Have love and faith in God
Prahlada was strong and fearless
Hiraṇyakaśipu was evil
Prahlada did not pray to Hiraṇyakaśipu even though he was threatened to be killed.
Pray to God with devotion
Surrender to the lord
Faith in lord with save you from anything
We cannot outsmart God."
Pranav P volunteered to recite the Gita verses that he is learning in his Gita learning class. It was truly amazing to see/hear how beautifully he recited slokas in Chapter 18, verses 41 thru 58.
Later kids chanted along with Swamiji's Geeta chanting video.
