Hari Om Parents!
Here is the summary of last Sunday's class (10th Mar):
- Started the class chanting three Om and followed by Sahana vavatu.
- Had kids share the about last class letter M for Mother. While talking through that some kids wanted to share few personal stories and what they did during the week. So kids were given chance for few min to express themselves before we moved on with next Letter. Sometime allowing them to express and slowly moving them to the curriculum helps them to feel connected.
- Moved on with Letter N for Nobility.
- Talked about Gandhiji and Mother Teresa and how noble they were.
- Asked the kids as who acted Gandhiji in our stage program. Everyone looked at Shriyan. :)
- Shared the story of Cow and lion. The story highlighted how the cow was noble and truthful to her words made her to go back home to her calf.
- As I was telling the story asked the kids who thinks the cow would go back to Lion or stay at home. Half of the them said the cow would stay home and will not follow her words to take care of her calf. And other half of the kids said it will go back to Lion as she wanted to be truthful to her words. One thing I noticed is the thinking ability of the kids is so unique and very confident. Couple of the kid said there is no right and wrong answer in some cases. In this case it's like that. I was amazed to hear that. Finally I ended the story that the cow went to lion to keep her promise. But Lion let her go back to her calf.
- Shared short story of Gandhiji which highlighted a simple action of him showed how noble he was.
- did Geeta chanting practice. Some kids have learnt more. Good to see the chanting.
- Coloring sheet N is given to the kids to color at home.
