March 10, 2019 - Grade 6 (PM Sunday)

Hari Om Everyone,

We started last class with our opening prayers and the Lakshmi Ashtakam. Then we chanted the Mahishasura Mardini and learned the seventh verse.

Also, the annual Geeta Chanting Yajna is on March 30, 2019. The last date to register is March 24, 2019. It seems like many students who usually participate also haven't registered. We sincerely encourage all of you to sign up and participate in this wonderful opportunity.

As you may know, we are doing a play on Friday, May 10th on the states of India. We are combining with the Friday class and therefore the play is on Friday evening. Please plan to be at the ashram that day at about 7:00PM

If you have some other conflict that will not allow you to be present on the day of the play, please let us know as soon as possible.

Last class, we discussed the expectations for the play and assigned roles. As of right now, we have been assigned Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. Here are the roles:

Each student will come up to the mike on stage and speak briefly about the assigned topic. The topics are as follows for each role:
  • Female - must talk about the attire and language of that state
  • Male - must talk about the deities and food of that state
  • Saint - must pick a saint that is historically significant to the state and speak briefly about them
  • Devotee - must talk about the temples of that state
All students must be in the appropriate attire, as one would dress in that state. If you need any help or have any questions, feel free to contact us.
We will continue to talk about and plan the play in following classes, so stay tuned for updates.
