Sep 30, 2018 - Grade 7 (AM Sunday)

HariOm  Grade 7 Balavihar Parents,

Today we had a fun filled, interesting session with your kids. Following are some key updates :

  • Opening Prayers : Guru Stotram, Morning prayers (Karagre, Saraswathi)
  • Meditation followed by focus exercise.
  • Gurudev's quote : " Temper takes you to trouble! Pride keeps you there "  We had  an interesting discussion on this quote , how we all can get into trouble  if we can't control temper and pride. Students had shared their views on this quote. One of the best quotes was from Ishan Mungikar : This quote refers to the everlasting cycle that often engulfs many people. Getting an award is nice, but to abuse that power damages the reputation that you have built up, thus making it hard to rebuild it . There are many instances where we get put in a situation that hurts us due to our pride
  • Ramayana : We discussed Chapters 3 and 4 of Ramayana by Rajaji. How Sage Vishwamitra wastes all his hard earned tapas by his anger and unjustifiable actions like trying to help Trishanku to get to heaven with his body. After obtaining title of Brahmarshi, Vishwamitra arrives at Ayodhya to seek Rama's help in performing the Yagna. We also discussed how hesitant Dasharatha was to send his dear son with sage but finally sends Rama & Lakshmana to protect the Yagna and kill demons.
  • Character analysis of Vishwamitra : We discussed the importance of  Vishwamitra in Ramayana. He was the Guru who not only taught Sree Rama, Lakshmana all forms of weapons and combat skills but also helped young princes come out of their protected zone and explore the world and finally contributed in Rama seeking Sita as his wife. We shared a character analysis worksheet where kids got opportunity to state 1) if they like the character ( Why / Why not? ) 2) Some thing important about the character 3) What things does the character perform 4) What would you do if you were the character.  We got several interesting details from your 7th grader. We will review and share these in our next session.
  • Bhagawatgita chanting with Swamiji
  • Balavihar House Inaugural session :  Your 7th graders are part of Bajarangi Bolts "Yellow" house. We entered temple carrying yellow flags and had a fun group warmup session to create bracelets in 5 mins. Our team stood in first position winning 250 +  points.
  • Ended the session with Pledge and closing prayers.
We request you to please give us consent to add your cell# to whatsapp group for easier communications and alerts. Share your cell number - we promise to limit this WAppGroup only for any emergency communications.
