Hari Om! Parents,
This week we had 2 new students in our class. Welcome to the new students and their parents!
We started our class with our opening prayers followed by Vaidika invocations/dhyana shlokas and on Lord Shiva
· Chanted Om Namaste astubhagavan… from Sri Rudram. We also chanted Om trayambakam for children with October birthdays.
· Taught and chanted 4 verses from Lingashtakam.
· Moved on to the topic of the day which was Do your duty as prescribed by Lord Krishna and our Hindu Culture.
· We also taught the following : Performing our duty with the right attitude purifies our mind, the 4 categories of activities we perform which is, Nitya, Naimittika, Kamya and Nishiddha karma, taught concept of Prarabadha
· Discussed Purushartha: defined it as how we can add our self-effort to challenges/situations we meet with examples.
· Discussed on how we can shape our destiny with the vision of the scriptures and make right choices with day to day examples.
· Last week as part of Hindu culture we talked about why do we do certain things in our culture.
· Discussed about why we light a lamp in our homes and this week why do we have a Pooja room in the house.
· Geeta Chanting - Swamiji's video on Verse 45 and 46 of Chapter 18 was played and the children chanted along. We request you to have the children practice once a day.
· Lastly we watched a CORD presentation by 2 high-schoolers which was very Inspiring.
· Ended the session with Arathi and pledge led by 7th grade.
