6/1/19

May 31 , 2019 - Grade 1 (Friday)

Hari Om! Parents,
Our last class for the year began with deep breathing and Om chanting. The class chanted "Sri Rama Rama Rameti" and "Nilambuja Shyamala Komalangam" shlokas next. They were all excited for the final Daily Prayers, boys vs girls chanting battle. We are happy to announce both sides did a great job and result was a tie! The children have promised to keep up with shloka practice for summer.

The Ramayana story concluded with Lord Rama, Sita and Lakshmana returning to Dandaka forest. Their exile has ended and word is sent to Ayodhya of their return. The entire kingdom is decorated with flowers and lamps lit everywhere. Guha brings Lord Rama, Sita and Lakshmana across the river Sarayu. Bharata greets and welcomes them back. At the palace all three queen mothers welcome Lord Rama. The coronation preparations are made and Sage Vasishta crowns Lord Rama king of Ayodhya. Lord Rama began his Rama Rajya. And by his side are Sita, Bharata, Lakshmana and Shatrugna and at his feet is Hanuman.

Next we played Ramayana Bingo game. It was a fun way to review all the characters from the Ramayana story. Then children got their Rama Pattabhishekam craft back. Each child shared their favorite memory of this year's Balavihar class. We all went outside to enjoy ice cream treat and play with bubbles. The class chanted "Purnamada Purnamidam" shloka to conclude the Balavihar year. We would like to thank you all for your support. We had a lovely time with all the children. Have a fun and safe summer break!

Jai Shri Ram!
