Hari OM,
Dear Parents,
We had our 16th Balavihar session on Sunday, February 3rd. Our next class is on February 10th.
We started our class at 9:15 with opening Prayers. We had 18 students in class. Please note that item #5 below requires your attention if you're not already aware of our upcoming Seva Project.
Our topics for this week:
1. Important update on Geetha chanting yagna...We spend quite a bit of class time this week practicing Geetha chanting. A few of the students are starting reach a level of proficiency where they are picking up on the errors in Swami Brahmananda-ji's recording that we have been using as reference. So, we're updating our prior guidance on the use of the \\geethachanting.net// Our sevaks organizing the Geetha Chanting Yagna have provided an excellent reference information at the Ashram website where they point out the specific errors and how to correctly chant the impacted verses. This information can be found here. (http://www.chinmayavrindavan.org/geeta-chanting/). Going forward, please use the errata information in this website for your Geetha chanting practice.
2. We need your help. Please register your child now for the Geetha chanting Yagna. You can find the registration link at the Chinmaya Vrindavan website mentioned above. Or you may go here.
3. We also continued our practiced of the Govinda Damodara Stotram.
4. We saw part of an animated story about Sri Krishna (Dhenukasura Vadham ); that we will go back and finish in the upcoming class
5. We have an upcoming Seva Project for the class. Our balavihar/ashram has been doing annadaanam/Soup kitchen (food donation) for the homeless from different grades each month. Grade 4 is scheduled for this month. It is on Saturday, February 16, 2019. Please see the link below for the items that can be donated, etc. Scroll down the sign-up genius list, and sign up for the items you would like to contribute. Please drop off the items well within the mentioned time. Kindly check the time and place to drop in the sign up sheet. Parents and kids who are interested can go to the soup kitchen directly and serve as well, address is posted in the sign up sheet as well! It is always appreciated and valued - upholding what our pledge says 'giving more than what we take...'! Thanks in advance for your generous donations.
