Dear Parents,
It took us about 10 minutes to start class after prayers, since there were quite a few kids walking in late. We request you to bring them in by 7pm, so we can utilize the entire 1.5 hours constructively.
Update:
** Opening Prayers: Śānthi mantra, Vakrathunda mahākāya, Sarasvati namastubhyam, Guru Brahmā, Buddhir Balam. Meditation for 2 minutes to calm down and get ready for the class.
** Ganesha Pancharatnam: We relearned the Phalasruthi again, since there was some confusion.
** Geeta Chanting - Verses 61 and 62 were taught. We request all the kids to listen and practice everyday. Our goal is to record at least 4 verses together, which we are hoping to achieve this coming week.
** Mahabharata - Arjuna wins the hand of Draupadi - Pandavas and Draupadi go home - Kunti without looking says, share amongst yourselves - Marriages take place (Ask the kids to relate the sequence of events)
News that Pandavas were alive reaches Kauravas - against the elders advice, they go to Panchala to wage war on the Pandavas - routed badly and return quickly to Hastinapura - Dhritarashtra hides his disappointment and speaks highly of the Pandavas to Vidura - Dhritarashtra asks Duryodhana what should be done now to get rid of Pandavas - he says we should create a rift between the brothers, bribe Drupada and Dhristadhyumna - humiliate Draupadi - Radheya says, being a true Kshatriyas such words should not come from you - should be determined by valor not cowardliness and underhanded tricks - Bheeshma, Drona and Vidura want yo bring the Pandavas back, and say it is their birthright - Vidura goes to Panchala - Kunti is not happy about going back to Hastinapura - grand reception of Pandavas - Vikarna and Chitrasena the only Kauravas to welcome the Pandavas - Gandhari blesses Draupadi, knowing that she will be the end of her sons - Pandavas are given Khandavaprastha, the barren half of the Kuru Kingdom - Yudhishthira accepts and is soon crowned the king of Khandavaprastha - Krishna accompanies them to the new kingdom - he summons Indra to make the kingdom fertile and prosperous like Indraloka and agrees to name is Indraprastha - Indra hires Vishwakarma, the divine architect, to plan and develop Indraprastha - Narmada visits and blesses all and tells them that although Draupadi is the wife of all five, you should be careful not to let that divide them - Arjuna goes on a one-year teerthayatra - he meets Ulupi (daughter of the King of Nagaloka) by the Ganges and spends some time with her - proceeds to the South - falls in love with Chitrangada the daughter of Chitrasena - marries her on the condition that he will leave his child as the heir of that kingdom - spends 3 month and goes down to end of Bharatavarsha (Rameshwaram).
