Hari Om! Parents,

We started our class with the beginning prayers.
We chanted the Vedic chanting of namste astu bhagavan….
Did meditation on Lord Shiva using the above vedic chant
Chanted and revised verse 56 through 60 from Chapter 18 of the Bhagavad Gita
This week our curriculum topic was on Upasana, explained the meaning of the word Upasana, also explained why we need a symbol for doing Upasana
Explained how our mind becomes single pointed by doing repeated Upasana
Did meditation on Lord Hanuman ji using the stotram Budhir balam…
Asked the children to think of one virtue of Hanuman ji and how we can imbibe that quality in us
Narrated the story of an atheist king and Swami Vivekananda. Swamiji ordered a minister to trample on the portrait of the king’s grandfather. The kings gets upset. For the king it symbolized the king’s ancestry. Swamiji thus explained to him why a symbol is necessary for worship
We narrated another story on the power of Prayer. Discussed prayer is not begging, but an invocation
Discussed briefly the 16 steps of doing any Pooja. We have taught the same in previous years
Asked the children to have a Ishtha devata to do their  daily meditation at home
Started practice for our play in the class
Completed writing the script for our play on Sunday. Thank you to the parents who brought their children for this activity
