January 13, 2019 - Grade 6 (PM Sunday)

Hari Om All,

Sorry for the late email this week! This week, we began our class with the regular opening prayers. As we had asked the kids to memorize the first five slokas of this years Bhagavad Gita curriculum (Chapter 18: 41-45), we started by reviewing the slokas and asking those who had it memorized to recite them in front of the class. Those kids who had them memorized chanted very well, but it would be great if the majority of the class participated in memorizing. For our next class, the goal was to have the first seven memorized! (Chapter 18: 41-47).

The second part of the class was led by two JCHYKs (junior chyks, or balavihar students in the 10-12 grades). The topic of their presentation was 'Temples', and the JCHYKs talked about why we go to temples, what we do at a temple, and also gave examples of famous temples in the area and in India.
