Hari Om Parents,

Welcome to 2019!! Wish you & your family a very happy & healthy new year.

We had a lively class this morning after the long break, revising the Mahabharata & Saints of India topics that we have covered this year. Below is the detailed breakdown of today's activities.
Parents please NOTE the reminder below, especially related to the Shlokathon registration. Looking forward to your support in ensuring that our class has full participation.

Today's Activities

  1. Guru Stotram
  2. Started the first couple of lines of Ganesha Stavah bhajan
  3. Continued the Mahabharata story further:
    1. The Pandavas ruled at Khandavaprastha for 36 years. In this time, Arjuna married Ulupi and had a son, Iravan (circumstances of Arjuna's trip).
    2. He also married Subhadra, Krishna's sister.
    3. There were powerful kings who were enemies of the Pandavas and allies of Duryodhana - Sishupala, Jarasandha.
    4. The story of Jarasandha - born in two separate halves and united by a demoness named Jara.
    5. Rajasuya yagna  - the grand gathering, discussion of First Honor and the slaying of Sishupala
    6. Also covered the backstory of the burning down of the Khandavaprastha forest with Agni and how Arjuna & Krishna received the Gandiva and Sudarshana
  4. Practiced Geeta Chanting Chapter 18, Verses 41-56
  5. Conclusion prayer
  6. Aarti & Pledge in the auditorium
