Dear Parents,

It was a memorable class today. First we had our BV coordinator visit us, and had a few questions about the Mahabharata for the kids. Many of them raised hands and answered the questions, giving us more reason to continue in the same format.

Update:

** Opening Prayers: Śānthi mantra, Vakrathunda mahākāya, Sarasvati namastubhyam, Guru Brahmā, Buddhir Balam. Meditation for 2 minutes to calm down and get ready for the class.

** Ganesha Pancharatnam: All verses

** Geeta Chanting - This week, we recorded verses 43 and 44(video recording attached). Verses 59 and 60 were taught. We request all the kids to listen and practice everyday

** Mahabharata - We had a quick review from the Lac palace burning onwards. The children were happy to fill the gaps and even remembered the people and places.
Today's class started with the Birth of Ghatotkacha - At Ekachakra living in a brahmin's home - killing of Baka - overhearing the Brahmin traveler talk about Dhristadhyumna and Draupadi and her impending swayamvara - the journey continues to Kampilya - preparations for the swayamvara - challenge of the Matsya yantra - failure of other kings to complete the task - Arjuna as Brahmin competes and wins - the others present are irked to see a Brahmin be victorious over Kshatriyas.

Will Arjuna's true identity be revealed? We will continue in our next class on Friday, February 1.

Pranāms,
Vandana and Nivedita
