Welcome to Chinmaya Vrindavan Balavihar 2018-19, Sun12:45 1st Grade class. We are Sailatha and Pranjali, your child's Balavihar teachers for this year.
We are delighted to have you and your child in our class and we are looking forward to an exciting journey of learning and exploring along with great fun!
To keep the class more engaged, we will send out weekly class summaries. Please look out for these emails.
Children will learn Bala Ramayana this year including Geeta chanting, daily prayers, Guru Stotram & bhajans. We will be also doing lots of fun-filled activities while learning like coloring, games, quizzes, yoga, meditation & activity related to festivals.
Our class Schedule will be :-
Ø Chanting OM three times with opening Prayers
Ø Bhajans / Shlokas
Ø yoga
Ø Quite time / Meditation game
Ø Geeta chanting
Ø Recap of previous week's lesson
Ø Stories from Ramayana
Ø Coloring / Games
Ø Aarti at temple @2:15 pm. ( Class dismisses after Aarti and Pledge)
Children will be learning :-
* Daily prayers (pg.11 to 13),
* Guru Stotram (pg. 61 shlokas 1 to 3 and Tvameva Mata...),
* Nilambuja Shyamala (pg. 129)
* Bhajans:- Atma Rama (pg.143), Manasa Bhajare (pg. 73), Shivay Parmeshwaraya (pg.83)
* Geeta Chanting (chapter 18 part 2, 16 verses from 41 to 56)
The supplies needed for children in 1st grade Balalvihar class are:-
· My prayers book (available @ chinmaya bookstore)
· Ramayana coloring book, it is also available at our Chinmaya bookstore.
· They will need to bring their crayons or coloring pencils or markers for coloring.
· Pencil & eraser
· Balavihar Handbook
Some house rules that will help us have an effective Balavihar class:-
· Balavihar class starts at 12:45pm. Please make sure to bring your child to class on time.
· Please have them use the restroom / drink some water before the beginning of the class. They can carry their water bottles if they want.
· We encourage all parents and students to stay for Aarti/Pledge at the temple as class ends only after the Aarti and Pledge.
Important Dates to remember:-
1) Monthly Program:- Our 1st grade 12:45pm. balavihar class will be performing on stage on Jan 13th, 2019 in their respective session. Please save the date. More info will follow.
2) Annadanam ( For 1st grade Saturday 11/17/18)
3) Geeta Chanting CNJ Regionals is on March 30, 2019.
