Hari Om!
This past week we focused our lesson and class around the theme "You Too Can!"
Given we work with 9th graders, we keep it very discussion-based and have emphasized how we'd like to keep it an open dialogue. The class is unequivocally a safe space for them.
Our discussion began with a round-robin sharing of what goals they were looking to accomplish and how this relates to their purpose. We have a diverse class with future music producers, developers, and scientists just to name a few :)
Then, we took a look at the following quote by Plato:
"Take charge of your life - you can do it what you will. Will it!"
We analyzed the wording and what it means to "will it." This linked well to our discussion around Pujya Gurudev and Gurudev's life. Our class was inspired by his dynamism and selfless work to make Vedanta accessible for us to learn and live.
Food for thought:
1. Are we living up to our potential?
2. How can we learn from Gurudev and answer our call from within?
