Oct 21, 2018 -KG (PM Sunday)

Hari Om Parents,

We hope that all of you had a beautiful and auspicious 9 days celebrating Navarathri. This is week 6 of Balvihar class. We had a shortened class this week due to the occasion of Saraswathi Pooja, which all of us celebrated in a grand manner in the main hall, and we all enjoyed a divine experience ably conducted by our own temple pujaris.

As we have celebrated Navarathri, we decided to keep that as the theme of today's class.

We started with our customary OM chanting, 3 time, followed by Om Sahanavavtu.
Curriculum-we had a group discussion about the alphabets that we have already covered which is A to D, and all the children enthusiastically were able to explain what each alphabet stands for and the meaning of each alphabet , gave examples and we also sang the A, B , C , D song up to D.

We taught the children the slokha " Saraswathy Namasthubhyam", and also started a Devi Bhajan," Thribhuvana Man Mohini"

Monthly Program-December 9, 2018- In preparation, we practised the Ram bhajan, " Raghupathy Raghava Raja Ram" and also decided what character each child will be dressed as for the program.

I will send a separate email with more details regarding the program.

At 1.30 pm we proceeded to the main hall for the Saraswathi Pooja.
Reminders and Upcoming Events:
1. Please be sure to send your children with a bag, bottle of water,a notebook, pencils and crayons and a folder. The ' My Prayers" book can be purchased at the bookstore, so that you can practice slokhas with the children at home.
We waste a lot of time taking the children to drink water. It would be preferable if each child brought  a bottle of water so that they can quench their thirst in class itself.
2. Next Sunday, October 28, 2018,  is the CORD Walkathon and Field Day. We will take attendance at the East Picnic Area of the Mercer County Park. We look forward to seeing all the children there as we will have an enjoyable time with a lot of fun filled activities planned.

Thank you,
Hari Om,
