Week 3 class started with opening prayers, followed by "Karagre Vasate Lakshmi" and "Sri Rama Rama Rameti" shlokas (My Prayers pg.11 & 129). They learnt the "Kathe bhi Rama kaho" bhajan (My Prayers pg.145). There was a quick recap of the Ramayana story, and after that we continued with story of Ahalya's curse. King Janaka of Mithila finding Sita. He announces the Rudra bow competetion for swayamvar. Storytime ended with the arrival of Lord Rama,Lakshmana and Sage Vishwamitra to Mithila. Children had lots of questions and shared many comments. We reminded them to bring their Ramayana coloring books. Next class they must wear Red dress for House Inaugaral to represent Durga's Daredevils House Team.
Gita Chanting lessons started with our Swami Shantanandaji talking about the importance of learning the Bhagavad Gita. Class chanted Chapter 18, Verse 41 and 42 (BV Handbook pg. 21) Here is the link for your child to listen and practice.
All the children have promised to memorize Gita and participate in the Gita Yagna on March 30, 2019.
We had several new children join the class on Friday. We must once again insist that all children arrive promptly at 7 pm. Late comers disrupt opening prayers and distract others. We request your cooperation in this matter.
