Hari Om Parents!
Welcome to 2018 - 19 Balavihar year!. On the 1st class ( 9th Sep) we covered the below:
1) Started the class chanting three Om and followed by Sahana vavatu. Explained the meaning of it.
2) said prayer for Ganesh, Saraswati and Guru.
3) spoke about Ganesh. By one kid asking what is knowledege, with example explained about knowledge and spoke about Saraswati.
4) Introduce ourselves and had the kids introduce themselves by saying HariOm and their name. As each kid said their name, we had other kids say back to the kid name with HariOm. So that kids can remember their friends name in the class.
5) had kids color name tag picture
6) did one Bhajan Ganesha Saranam
7)played the alphabet game of passing the box which had small chit written with alphabet and folded. We had kids in little close circle, started with music and passing the bix to next kid. When the music stopped , the kid who had the box would pick one chit and read the alphabet aloud and all kids whose name started with that alphabet would raise their hands and one by onr say their name with what do they like to do. Kids were so excited with the game. Especially when the kid picked the chit, they were so curious which letter was it.. lots of fun!
8) finally wrapped up the class with exit ticket of having the kids think about who is god? Where is god? And what does he do?
So the young curious mind can think and Next class we will continue talking about the topic of God.
Before going to Arati, explained to the kids how we should go to the prayer hall and behave while going as well being there..
Overall we had a good start and kids were wonderful in the class!.
