Sep 23, 2018 - Kindergarten (PM Sunday)

Pranaams,
Continuing into the third week of BalVihar, we had 5 new children join us.

We started class with Om chanting and opening prayer, Om Sahanavavatu. We repeated Om and the prayer 3 times for better retention.

We continued the curriculum and completed B for Brotherhood, explained the story mentioned in the book of the box of crayons, and how each color has a unique role to play in contributing to making a picture look colorful, bright and pretty to the eye.
The children went on to color the brotherhood coloring page which depicts different nations which when combined becomes the Earth. After the coloring, we brainstormed about what constitutes a family, how different families make a community, and this community in turn becomes a town, city and eventually the county and the world.

We also read a story book called My community, Our Values by Grace Jones, which provides illustrations in the form of beautiful pictures about what forms a community and how we can help one another, and the inter dependency of human life.

We also sang Raghupathy Raghava as part of our preparation for the Dec 9th monthly program. We taught them the slokha "Ramamya Ramabhadraya",
and as next week we are celebrating House Spirit day, we sang the bhajan," Hey Murali Shreedhara".

Thank you, Swamiji,

Hari OM,
Ulka Powar and Priya Nambiar
