Hari om Parents,
We started the class with meditation and gItaa chanting as always. We learnt 5 verses today (#41-15)
Thank you to the parents who stopped by our class at the beginning of the class. We shared our class structure and there were a few important announcements.
- The JCHYKs will be taking roles in arranging the garba night, along with the CHYKs. More info shall follow
- Our stage presentation will be on Mar 10th. Yes! Seems like a long way to go. But we will be keeping it in mind and planning ahead :).
- Help your children keep up with the topics in class by discussing your thoughts with them
- Help them/remind them to practice gItaa chanting regularly!
- Regular attendance takes them a long way in getting the entire essence of the curriculum
We became little grade schoolers and listened to the story of 'Monkey and the Crocodile'. Surprisingly, many of them had forgotten the story and listened with rapt attention! The moral of the story was - Like the monkey said 'I left my heart on the tree', please don't come to class and say 'I left my thinking faculty (aka, my brain) at home'... Be attentive and alert always! :)
After that, we learnt about the triangular format - 'jeeva, jagat and Ishwara'. We spoke about what each of these words meant for us, as of today. We will be tying them all together as we go along. We also learnt about the 'law of consequence' with various examples. Please ask your children to elaborate as we had many examples and many discussions.
H.W.: Practice bg verses 41-45 at least 3 times before next class.
Regards,
Rashmi and Sitaram
