Below is the update of today's class


Week 3:
23rd SEPTEMBER 2018 / 9:15AM

Shlokas:
  1. Sahanavavattu (opening prayer)
  2. Sarvamangala Mangalay Shloka on Goddess Parvathi
Lesson:
Review of Mahabharata from grade 5
  • Pandavas go to the forest
  • Vidura visits the forest and Maitreya's curse
  • Support shown to Yudhishthira by his relatives.
  • Arjuna's visit to Heavens to gain the celestial weapons.
  • Arjuna get Pasupata from lord Shiva
  • Bhima meets Hanuman and Nahusha.  
  • Arjuna Returns from Indra's palace
  • Duryodhana's plot and his capture
Geeta Chanting:
Bhagavad Gita:  Last year we had done 40 verses of 18 chapter.  This year we have to do the rest. Children were taught the verses 41 and 42.  Children will be earning points for memorizing the verses. Please encourage your children to practice at home.  Our swamiji's recordings which are a wonderful resource for learning are available at the following link.

Activities:
We divided the teams into 3 groups and played a game of Jeopardy. Please see the link below for the game. This is a good source of review.



Announcements:
Chord Volunteers visited the classroom today. Please check the folders for the dates and participation information.

Few parents visited the classroom today and were given an overview of grade 6 curriculum.

Grade 6 will be performing on the stage on May 12th.
