We are very delighted to share this week's update. 

We started the class with opening prayers - VakraTunda , Saraswathi , and Guru Brahma. We chanted Budhir Balam yasho dhairyam focusing on the Balam. We talked about how strong Hanuman ji was . We revised the topic invisible /visible backbone. We started right away with our class activity - the Japa Mala. 

The children were very excited to make the Japa Mala. They were helping each other insert the beads into the yarn. We are so proud of them. They chanted "Jai Shriram " using their Japa Mala .

We will continue with Chapter 3 next week , and we look forward to seeing them soon !

A warm welcome to Balavihar 2018-19 Grade 2 Sunday morning class!

We are so excited to have an enthusiastic group of children this year and we are looking forward to a delightful session with them every weekend.

In 2nd grade, your kids will be learning about "Superman Hanuman". We will learn the Dhyana shloka for Hanuman and the qualities that Hanuman embodies. We will also learn the Hanuman Chalisa. We want to inspire the kids to inculcate values that Hanuman personifies and also to develop a devotion and love for Hanuman. Since this year is all about Hanuman, we are sure that the kids are going to have a lot of fun.

The secret to any successful class is to learn and have fun in a disciplined environment. We want you to talk to your kids about some class rules.

1. Our class timings are 9.15 - 10.45 am after which we go for Arati in the temple hall. Please ensure that kids arrive on time at 9.15 a.m. Since we have a lot of topics to cover, it can be disruptive if the kids walk in late or are in the middle of an activity.

2. Please make sure that the kids use the bathroom before coming to class.

3. Please send in a notebook and a pencil case with pencils and an eraser for any class activities that we may do.

Each weekend we will try and provide you an update of the activities for that week's session (see attached). 

There is a parent teacher meeting planned in the upcoming week, details for which you will be provided by the Balavihar admins. We hope to discuss this years' plan in person and address any clarifications. We request you to please update your contact information using the link provided.
