Hari om everyone,
We had an awesome class today! It has been a while since we have been in the classroom/discussion mode, due to practices, holidays, etc :).
We have finished learning all the BG ch 18 - part 2 verses in class and we have been practising.
In today's class, we discussed the famous saying by Swami Vivekananda 'Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached'. We discussed what exactly he meant by saying this. We talked about the deeper import of the saying, how it is different for us humans than an animal. We discussed many stories of the great saint and his teachings.
We continued for some history lesson and spoke about the real 9/11 that had happened EXACTLY 108 yrs before the unfortunate 9/11 we all remember from the year 2001. 9/11/1893 was when the Conference of Religions at the UN was held, where Vivekananda famously addressed the gathering with his thunderous voice, 'Brothers and Sisters of America...'
We learnt about the similarities between Swami Vivekananda and our Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda.
We really do need to keep an alarm to come out of class! By the time we finished class and came out Chinmaya aarati was happening today

When we were discussing about having an observer and the effect of the observer on our behavior, we had mentioned an experiment called the 'Double slit theory'. We had promised to share the video of that experiment. Check it out. It is very interesting what a 'saakShI - observer' can do to the behavior of even particles!

We have addressed each one of them in class and asked them to make sure they register for the Gitaa chanting competition. Some have said they have competitions or travelling on that day. Only those people are excused. Rest of you, please make sure you register! You have been doing very well in class. If you are unable to learn it by-heart, register for the reading group. Below is the link to register for the Gita chanting competition -
Here's the link for the short audio clips with 5 verses in each 1 min. audios -
