Hari om everyone,
We nailed it! The kids were SO AMAZING on stage today and they pulled it off without a hitch!! We are so proud of them!!!
We had told them that teachers will not be on stage to prompt or assist them with anything. They were accountable for each of their roles and sure enough, each of them owned it and did full justice :).
There were a few details incorporated in the play that we refrained from explaining on stage. We wanted younger kids to have fun too :). The subject we were taking on was dense, so we tried to dilute it to an easily understandable format in the 'Reflections' segment as well. For example,
- prakRuti and puruSha have no baggage! They are untainted by fruits of action though they are present in and through everything at all times
- 9 hr drive was denoting the 9 months in the mother's womb
- people who got salvation
- Amar, Akbar, Antonia (ya, names were a spinoff on the famous movie :) - represented 3 different streams of religion since the karma-siddhaanta applies to anyone who understands this Knowledge!
- represented 2 genders (male, female)
- 3 guNa-s (sattva-Antonia, rajas-Amar, tamas-Akbar)
- dharma, the Park Ranger, is keeping count of our deeds at all times and there is no escaping from that. Even the smallest of our deeds get accounted for by Him
- and many such...
Mainly, our class has clearly understood that we have to keep our 'aagaami' bags as light as possible, if not empty! At home, anytime they start bragging or complaining, just remind them to put a stone in their 'A' bags. It just might work ;).
Thank you, parents, for bringing your children to our home every Saturday for practice. All your dedication sure paid off on stage today :).
Enjoy reminiscing the performance at the YouTube link below :)
Have a great week ahead and see you Sunday.
Regards,
Rashmi and Sitaram.
