Feb 8, 2019 - Grade 6 (Friday)

Hariom Parents,
This was our 14th balavihar session and we had one more milestone that we achieved in this session. We finished the Mahabharata portion of the curriculum. While we would still have a few sessions to revise the topics and bring it all together a major portion of the rest of the year would be on the "India the Sacred Land" topic.
We started the class with our regular starting prayers and after attendance we started with  a brief review of the Kurukshetra war piece that  we covered so far….We had reached the 18th Day of the war  and thus we continued this session discussing  Shalya  parva  - The last days of the war and subsequent crowning of Yudhistira as a king of Hastinapura.  We closed the session with the Pandava's journeys to  heaven thus concluding the Mahabharata portion of the curriculum.
We have some interesting games and video viewing planned  with the intent to do a quick review of the whole Mahabharata in the next few classes. As always, we concluded the day with Geeta chanting with Swamiji leading us on video.
Also if you have missed the emails from the last class updates please check the link here.
Next week is Spirit day and thus the request is for the youths to dress in the color of the house they represent. Grade 6 belongs to Durga Daredevils and thus request all to dress in Red color kurta or shirt etc.
Thank you
Shankar & Harinee
