Hari Om Parents,
First of all, A big Thank You for all our 6th graders who helped out for the Pongal event at the ashram. It was amazing to see lot of them volunteer despite the bad weather. These seva opportunities are part of curriculum and teach kids lot of valuable lessons.
This week we had almost 100% attendance and most of them came on time. Please continue to maintain the same pattern given the vast syllabus we have to cover along with our fun play practices. Below is the update from the class this week.
Week 15:
27th January 2019 / 9:15AM
Shlokas:
· Sahanavavattu (opening prayer)
· Mahishasuramardini Stotram -Review of 1 and 2, New verse 3 (page 47 MyPrayers)
Lesson:
· Day 2 of the battle – Fierce Fight between Bhishma and Arjuna, Drona and Dhristadyummna, loss for Kauravas
· Day 3 of the battle – Bhima and Ghatotkacha attack Kauravas. Krishna raises his Chakra on Bhishma eventually stopped by Arjuna
· Day 4 of the battle – More loss for Kauravas. Bhima kill 8 brothers of Duryodhana.
· Day 5,6,7,8 – Battle continues with loss on both sides with more destruction on Kauravas side
· Day 9 – Bhishma fights fierce fully. Krishna lifts the chakra on Bhishma for the second time and Arjuna promises to do his duty. After sundown, pandavas approach Bhishma for the solution. Bhishma hints that he will not fight with women in the battle. Pandavas decide to have Shikandi on Arjuna's chariot the next day.
· Day 10 – Bhishma is brought down by Arjuna. Bhishma decides to wait until uttarayana to give up his body.
