It was "movie day" at balavihar on December 16th.
After our beginning prayers, and attendance, we talked about Guru parampara, and provided a short overview of the movie we were about to watch in the auditorium entitled "On A Quest".
When an inquisitive journalist meets an inspiring saint, he undertakes a journey that ultimately changes his life forever. "On A Quest" details the life of Swami Chinmayananda (named as P Balakrishnan Menon) as he transitions between multiple phases: a naughty child, rebellious youth, patriotic freedom-fighter, inquisitive journalist, an atheist, yearning seeker, to a spiritual Master who carries the message of our Rishis to the masses across the world. The movie features the birth of the Chinmaya Movement and the Chinmaya Mission, which was established by a group of seekers under the inspiration and guidance of Pujya Gurudev, Swami Chinmayananda.
"On a Quest" will introduce you to the dynamic saint, a man in an ardent quest for truth, a compassionate teacher, and visionary leader that was Swami Chinmayananda. The movie features stunning visuals and an inspiring sound track.
All the students seemed to be touched by it, and enjoyed as well. They were also rewarded with a treat after the movie on their way out.
It was the last balavihar class for the year 2018!
