Dec 9, 2018 - Toddler/Pre K (AM Sunday)


Hari Om Parents,


Below is the summary for Dec 9th, Sunday morning session. 

 Started the class chanting three Om's and 3 chants

Om Sri Ganeshaya namaha, Om Sri Saraswathye namaha,  Om Sri Sat Gurubyoh namaha

 followed by Sahana vavatu. 
            OM saha nāvavatu
            saha nau bhunaktu
            saha vīryam karavāvahai
            tejasvināvadhītamastu
            mā vidviṣāvahai
            OM śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ
  
We chanted  the following three shlokas:- 
      1)   karãgre vasate lakshmīḥ, 
            karamūle sarasvatī 
            karamadhye tu govindaḥ,
            prabhāte karadarśanam 

     2)    brahmārpaṇaṃ brahma havir 
             brahmāgnau brahmaṇā hutam ।
             brahmaiva tena gantavyaṃ
             brahmakarmasamādhinā ॥

     3)    Diipa-Jyotih Para-Brahma 
            Diipa-Jyotir-Janaardanah
            Diipo Haratu Me Paapam 
            Diipa-Jyotir-Namostute

Salutations to the Light of the Lamp. The Light of the Lamp represents the Supreme Brahman, the Light of the Lamp represents Janardhana. Let the Light of the Lamp Remove My Sins; Salutations to the Light of the Lamp.
After some Yoga stretches and poses we played our meditation game and
 revised the Sanskrit numbers from  1 to 15.

We then recited the Hanuman bhajans 

            aanjaneya veera hanumantha shoora
            vaayuu kumaara vaanara veera
            mahaanubhaava jaya hanumantha
            sree raam jaya raam jaya jaya raam
            seetaaraam jaya jaya jaya raam

Great God Hanumanji, I bow to Thee(Action Song)
            Great God Hanumanji, I bow to Thee,
            Monkey faced One, I bow to Thee
            Delight of Lord Rama, I take refuge in thee
            Brave and strong son of Anjani
            Infinite Om, Oh I bow to Thee
            You fight all evil and win Victory

We moved on to chanting the Bhagavad Gita : Chapter 18 -  41, 42 and 43rd shloka from our handbook.

Our  story for the week was The Hare and the Tortoise  and the kids enjoyed doing the  Hare and tortoise collage.

We wrapped up our session with our closing prayers and moved to the temple for Aarthi.

For this Sunday, Dec 16th, at Balvihar all the kids learnt about our Guru Parampara by watching the movie "On a Quest".
