- Continued our second topic for this year: Guru Parampara
- All these gurus followed the Vedanta philosophy as taught by Adi Shankara. This philosophy teaches that all creation is in essence One.
- What is the role of Adi Shankara in gathering the various branches of philosophical thought in India and presenting Advaita?
- What is the philosophy of Advaita?
- What is the ultimate goal in our lives - what steps can we take to institute this in our daily lives?.
- Short discussion with the kids sharing their views on the importance of attending Balavihar, importance of learning about our culture & spirituality.
- Mahabharata Story Revision & Next Chapters
- Revised briefly all the key topics from the Mahabharata story covered from Week 6 through 7
- Kunti's reaction to Karna appearing during the skills demonstration and challenging Arjuna
- Duryodhana's growing jealousy and elaborate plans to kill Pandavas - his supporters
- The trip to Varanavrata and Vidura's warning
- Pandavas' escape through the forest & river, Bheema's defeat of Hidimba, marriage to his sister Hidimbi, birth of Ghatothkach
- Pandavas life in Ekachakrapura and Bheema's fight with Bhakasura and celebration by the villagers

Reminder & Activities for home
- We are going to record the kids reciting the verses as part of the submission towards the house points. Please practice Chapter 18. Verses 41-44 at home and come prepared for the next class. Here is an audio link to help.http://www.geetachanting.net/bvg18v41-50/
- Next week it is our turn to lead the Aarti & Pledge. All kids are requested to come in their traditional dresses.
- It is important that kids are on time for the session, and many of them are showing up after we have finished the prayers. We are going to close attendance at 9:20 am every Sunday morning going forward.
