11/5/18

Nov 4, 2018 - Grade 4 (PM Sunday)

Hari Om Parents,
Nov 4th class.
Hope you all had a wonderful Diwali.
Our class started with opening prayers, Guru stotram and Govinda Damodara stotram.
We covered the next 2 teachers from my 24 teachers book. We recapped about the first teacher mother Earth who teaches us patience and forgiveness and then talked about Air and Space.
We discussed about how Air by itself is pure, unattached and untainted by outside fragrances, so should we be, not get influenced by the surrounding situations and then talked about the Omnipresence of space.
During Krishna's story time, we covered the fruit seller story where the lord is moved by the unselfish love and devotion that he fills her basket with gold and jewelry. We also talked about everyone from Gokula move to Vrindavan, as they felt it wasn't safe.
Finally we narrated Kamsa's relentless plots to find out where lord Krishna is, and sending two more rakshasa's, one of them disguised as a calf and another, Bakasura, in the form of a huge crane and how lord Krishna kills both.
We recited Bhagavad Gita slokas with Swamiji's guidance and recapped the earlier ones, 41-46.

Please look out for emails from Chinmaya regarding Thanksgiving Seva project. It has a list of items that you can donate for the gift baskets. This is an excellent way to teach the kids the gift of sharing with the needy.

Hari Om,
Thank you,
Purna and Rama.
