Hari Om Parents,
We had a great class today. Here is a recap of what we covered today:
Opening Prayers: Om sahanvavatu, karagre vasate Lakshmi, Guru Strotam followed by meditation and focus exercises.
Quote of the day: "Rise when you fall, believe in yourself. Work hard and get strong"
Our class theme was based on this quote and we had a great discussion about this towards the end of the class.
Key to success: The fact and our behavior
The fact: What is equanimous? It means treating anything and everything equally and with oneness. To be happy, we need to cultivate the vision of oneness for one and all.
When can we have such a vision? Only when we recognize the Lord is within us.
The Lord within: We discussed the story of a rich business man who wanted to own this beautiful painting but found out that it always belonged to him.
The Lord is with us. Not knowing, we search for happiness outside!
Within What? We did a flash light experiment to determine that agitated mind is like a veil which does not let us reach the Lord within. We also talked about subjective and objective mind.
When the mind is quiet, when the mind and intellect are tuned, sharpened, there are no more agitations which keep us away from the Lord within.
Character analysis: Bhageerath. Here is what couple of students wrote:
Ramayana Story: Ahalya and Sita Swayamwaram.
Bhagwat Geeta Chanting with Swamiji: Verses 47, 48
Interactive discussion on the quote of the day connecting it with the class topic and the relevance in our daily lives.
The session ended with aarti and pledge.
Sincerely,
Suma and Ruchi
