HariOm Grade 7 Balavihar Parents,
Last Sunday we had an interesting session with your kids. It was a short session, followed by special Saraswati Puja in the temple. Following are some key updates :
- Opening Prayers : Guru Stotram, Morning prayers (Karagre, Saraswathi)
- Meditation followed by focus exercise.
- Gurudev's quote : " The tragedy of human history is decreasing happiness in the midst of increasing comforts " We had an interesting discussion on this quote , how in this modern era with all the comforts/gadgets, engrossed in our own world how aloof we become. Students had shared their views on this quote. One of the best quotes was from Anish Kumar : When we get comforts, we get more lazy and thus unhappy. For example when we got calculators we stopped doing Math. When cavemen had no luxury items, they had a healthy and happy life. When we were using phone cards several years back, we used to keep in touch with friends & family but now with unlimited call options, we choose no one to call.
- Ramayana : We discussed Chapters 5 of Ramayana by Rajaji- Rama Slays the monsters. We learnt about the journey of Rama to Sidhashrama via Dandaka forest with his Guru Vishwamitra and brother Lakshmana. Sage Vishwamitra patiently explains about the significance of the places they were traveling. He teaches several Mantras and weaponry skills. We listened the story of Yaksha called Tataka & Maricha.
