Dear Parents,
As we have a fairly large class of students, all the children had a turn relating stories covered in last week's class. This week our schedule was as such:
** Opening Prayers: Shanthi mantra, Vakrathunda mahākāya, Sarasvati namastubhyam, Guru Brahma, Buddhir Balam
** Ganesha Pancharatnam ( verse 1 &2). The recording of their recitation has been attached.
** Mahabharata - Amba's thirst for revenge - her penance to Lord Shanmugha and Lord Shiva - subsequent rebirth as Śikandi - Vichitravirya's marriage to Ambika and Ambalika - Vichitravirya's premature death - Satyavati pleading with Bhishma to marry Ambika and Ambalika - revealing Vyasa as Satyavati's son - Vyasa blesses Ambika and Ambalika who beget Dhritarashtra and Pandu - birth of Vidura.
We created a family tree on the board this week, and would like the children to take turns charting out the characters.
** Geeta Chanting - this week Swamiji's video on Verse 41 and 42 of Chapter 18 was played and the children chanted along. The markings on syllables to be stressed have been done in class (on the Handbook), so please make sure the children practice at least once a day.
